Journey Outward Dental Mission |
|
El Filon, Honduras is a village of 800 people and is located in the mountains 40 to 50 miles away from the nearest city, San Pedro. The per capita income of El Filon is very low. The economy based on coffee production, is depressed. The school in El Filon serves 250 students. Dr. Taylor’s church, Colonial in Prairie Village, KS supports an adult literacy project and pays the salary of two of the four teachers at the school.
The medical clinic of El Filon is supported by a number of churches in the Kansas/Oklahoma area. This support pays for a full time nurse and some supplies. Dr. Taylor supports this clinic by offering his dental services and has visited the village the last two years.
